Last week marked a historic milestone for Redbridge, becoming the first borough in the UK to achieve Child Friendly Status with UNICEF.
This achievement reflects strong partnership working between the local authority, police and, importantly, the young people across the community. It recognises a shared commitment to ensuring children’s voices are heard and valued.
At the event, Superintendent McCarthy met one of Redbridge’s young leaders, Yusuf Patel, who was handing out “Kind Notes.” Her message read: “Smile at someone today.”
The note offers a simple but meaningful message for both officers and the wider community.
